Early Drop off / Late Pick up
Parents dropping off and picking up children must accompany them into
the classroom . They must also sign in and
sign out in the daily , and notify a teacher that they are
dropping off or picking up the child. Anyone not recognized by LD staff will
need to know the “security code” and will be required to present a
valid picture ID.
In order to receive the full benefits of our program, as well as to
help your child adjust accordingly, we ask that your child maintain a
regular school schedule. Please try to have your child arrive no later
than 8:30 a.m. Rest time is also a crucial part of our day. Please
avoid dropping your child off during this time. We understand that
special circumstances do occur, and that your child will be welcomed
regardless of what time they arrive.
Late Pick-Up Policy
Little daydreamers program closes promptly at 6:00 pm each night. All
children and parents must exit the building by this time. The daycare’s
clock will serve as the “official clock” for determining time. Please
synchronize your watch with this clock. Parents that have a lengthy
departure routine must arrive early enough to meet the time criteria. A
No Exception Policy is in place for several reasons:
- Teachers give their best to your children each day. They also have
responsibilities to their own children and family. They need to know
they can end their school day reliably at 6:00 daily.
- Late pick-ups require Daydreamers to pay their teachers overtime.
These additional costs must be passed on to parents who create the need
for overtime.
- Most preschooler’s internal body clock knows when their usual
pick-up time is! Children can become nervous or fearful when they are
at school later than normal. Please know that your child will always be
comforted and safe, even in the event of an emergency.
Our Late Policy is as follows: A fee of $1 for every minute
that your child(ren) is in the building after 6:00 pm is applied per
family. After 10 minutes, this late pick up fee goes to $2 per
minute. This fee must be paid at the time when you pick up your child.
There will be no exceptions or warnings. If you are late for ANY reason, a charge will be issued. This No Exception
policy makes it easier for us to apply the late policy to everyone
consistently and fairly. It will be greatly appreciated, however, if
parents call to notify us if they will be late and give an approximate
arrival time so that we can better comfort your child. If this becomes
a frequent problem, Little Daydreamers reserves the right to dismiss a family
from the program.
- Our hours are 7:45a.m. to 6:00p.m. ( Newark Location 7:45am -5:30pm) Monday thru Friday each
week. An additional fee is charged if your child is not picked up at
the time of closing. No child is to be in Day Care over a 10 hour
period - unless you are working, or driving to and from work.
- PLEASE keep us informed on job changes, phone, and address changes, etc. We MUST be able to reach YOU!
- Our basic age bracket is 4 weeks to 5years old.
- Accounts
MUST be paid IN FULL at least once a month. Everyone is given the
advanced rate, so accounts not paid at the end of the month will have
an 8% interest added to the balance. There is a two week grace period,
after that you are dropped from the enrollment.
- PLEASE
keep sick children home! It helps to be prepared with an alternative.
We cannot accept your child with a fever, diarrhea, or any other
obvious symptoms. We WILL call you to pick them up.
- We
can NOT give over the counter medication to ANY child
- PLEASE REPORT to us any new immunization dates and keep your children current. This is a state law.
- Nap-time
policy: We do not ACCEPT children between 10:30a.m. & 2:15p.m.
unless an emergency requires so. It is disruptive to the children
already asleep. However our doors are open at all times for parents to
drop in.
- Checking in and out at is
required by the state licensing department. This is for the protection of the child. Please let
the staff know if someone different is to pick up the child.
- Discipline:
We maintain firm but fair and loving discipline, which is aimed at
teaching respect and the rights of others. Discipline will be
reasonable and consistent, not frightening or humiliating. Striking a
child is NOT allowed. We use the time out method. In serious instances
we will call the parent to be involved.
- You need to bring
from home, a blanket, and a change of clothes. In addition the nursery
children need disposable diapers. Please mark everything.
- We are not responsible for any items lost or stolen.
- We
will immediately call police and the child protective services when
there is any reason to suspect physical, sexual, or emotional child
abuse, child neglect or exploitation. We will also immediately call 911
if you pick up your child and we suspect that you are under the
influence of alcohol.
